Maintaining Sportsmanship and Respect

FHEI embodies the standards of conduct from the IIHF for all participants in the sport, including players, coaches, officials, and spectators. This code is in place to promote respect, prevent misconduct, and ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.

Key Aspects of the Disciplinary Code

  • Code of Conduct: Expectations for behaviour on and off the ice, emphasising respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators.
  • Penalties for Misconduct: Description of disciplinary actions for various forms of misconduct, such as unsportsmanlike behaviour, abuse of officials, or violent conduct.
  • Appeals Process: Procedure for players or teams to appeal disciplinary decisions, ensuring fairness and transparency.
  • Zero Tolerance Policy: Strict policies against discrimination, harassment, and abusive behaviour, with severe penalties for violations.
  • Progressive Discipline: Outline of consequences for repeat offenders, including suspensions and bans for serious or repeated infractions.

Enforcing the Disciplinary Code

FHEI takes misconduct seriously and enforces the IIHF Disciplinary Code through a dedicated committee that reviews incidents and determines appropriate actions. All participants are encouraged to adhere to the code to create a respectful and enjoyable environment for all
